Athletics Carnival

This years Athletics Carnival at Beaton Park on the 18th of June was a fantastic exhibition, once again, of the sportsmanship and spirit of participation that Wollongong Public School is proud to possess. All classes from Kindergarten right through to Year 6 joined in the fun and excitement of the day and nobody went home without having given their all. Many thanks go to the wonderful parents who came along and helped out on the day, as well as the fantastic teachers who worked hard to make the day a success, Mr Butt and Mrs Carter in particular!

NATSI Day

The Wollongong Public School children were extremely fortunate to have visitors join them on their first day back this term. Our visitors helped us celebrate and learn all about the culture of the Torres Strait Islands. Activities organised for the day including storytelling, singing, dancing and creative art. To wrap up what was an excellent day of fun and learning we finished with some native song and dance and all students (and even the teachers) show-cased their dancing skills. Thank you Mrs Clapham for your hard work and organisational efforts which made this day such a huge success!

COS Tree Planting

On Monday 4th August 20 of our stage 3 students were given a wonderful opportunity to represent our school in a community initiative. Along with Mrs Nelson, our students travelled by bus to a local site at which, guided by Keira High School students, they were involved in planting numerous trees. Hopefully more initiatives like this will be organised in the future to enable more and more of our students to show how much they care for the environment. Congratulations everyone on your excellent efforts and attitude!
